Sulfo NHS-LC-Biotin Product Description

Sulfo NHS-LC-Biotin (Sulfo NHS-X-Biotin) is a water soluble, long chain amine reactive biotinylation reagent. Sulfo NHS-LC-Biotin reacts efficiently and irreversibly with a compounds containing primary amine (-NH2) residues, including small molecules, proteins, antibodies and other biomolecules.

Sulfo NHS-LC-Biotin contains a biotin group, an elongated alkyl spacer arm and an active Sulfo NHS ester. This biotinylation compound is membrane impermeable, making it well suited for cell surface protein biotinylation. This compound can be added directly to aqueous buffered reactions or can be dissolved in a high quality, molecular biology grade, anhydrous solvent, such as DMSO (CovaChem 18252) or DMF (CovaChem 18251) prior to adding to final reaction buffer.

  • Biotin-LC Hydrazide

Long chain biotinylation reagent for carbohydrates. Biotin-LC-Hydrazide
  • BSA

N,O-bis-(trimethylsilyl) acetamide (BSA) is a silylation reagent used to form stable TMS derivatives that are volatile. BSA is used to derivatize carboxylic acids, phenols, steroids, amines, alcohols, and alkaloids.
  • DMSO (Dimethylsulfoxide)

CovaChem's Molecular Biology Grade DMSO is a high purity solvent intended for use in protein assays, chromatography, and other highly sensitive applications.
  • DSP Crosslinker

Lomant's reagent (DSP) is a reducible homobifunctional crosslinker. Another common name for this reagent is DTSP. DSP contains two NHS esters and contains a disulfide linkage that is cleavable.
  • EDC-HCL | EDAC-HCL | > 99%

N-Ethyl-N'(3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC-HCl) is a zero length protein crosslinker. Also known as EDAC-HCl, this reagent is often used with either Sulfo-NHS (CovaChem 13505) or NHS (CovaChem 13504). EDC functions by activating the carboxyl region of the protein or other molecule, and coupling it to an amine or other nucleophilic functional group.
  • EMCS Crosslinker

N-(∑-Maleimidocaproyloxy) succinimide ester(EMCS) is a heterobifunctional crosslinker with a spacer length of 9.4 Å. EMCS contains an amine reactive, NHS ester, and a maleimide group which is reactive towards sulfhydryl functional groups.
  • LCMS Grade Propionic acid (UltraPure)

LCMS Grade Propionic acid (Ultra High Purity) from CovaChem is well suited for HPLC and LCMS applications. Propionic acid can be used as a mobile phase for HPLC or LCMS, or can be used post-column in LCMS applications to increase ionization efficiencies when ion pairing agents are used for separation.
  • Maleimide > 99%

Maleimide (2,5-Pyrroledione) is a five member ringed compound that is commonly used in synthetic applications and as a synthetic starting material for cysteine blocking, Diels-Alder synthesis, and through Michael addition.
