NHS-SS-Biotin
Description
NHS-SS-Biotin Product Description NHS-SS-Biotin is a cleavable, long chain amine reactive biotinylation reagent. NHS-SS-Biotin reacts efficiently with compounds containing primary amine (-NH2) residues, including small molecules, proteins, antibodies and other biomolecules. NHS-SS-Biotin contains a biotin tag, an elongated spacer arm with a reducible disulfide (S-S) and an active NHS ester. This biotinylation compound should be dissolved in a high quality, molecular biology grade, anhydrous solvent, such as DMSO (CovaChem 18252) or DMF (CovaChem 18251) prior to adding to final reaction buffer. NHS-SS-Biotin labeled proteins can be easily cleaved by exposure to a solution containing TCEP (CovaChem 11303) or DTT (CovaChem 11302).
