Bis-sulfosuccinimidyl suberate (BS3) is a water soluble, non-cleavable, membrane impermeable homobifunctional protein crosslinker. BS3 is homobifunctional protein crosslinker with targeted reactivity towards primary amines at pH 7 to pH 9. Proteins are often a rich source of amines, both in lysine (K) residues and the N-terminus. Once reacted with the amine (-NH2) group, amide bond is formed.
