N-Methyl-bis(trifluoroacetamide), MBTFA is a member of the perfluoroacid anhydride family of products. MBTFA is reactive towards primary (-NH2) and secondary amines (-NRH), hydroxyl (-OH) and thiol (-SH) groups under mild and non-acidic conditions. The product derivatives and the reaction bi-products of MBTFA are volatile and stable, making it a good choice for trifluoroacetylating reagent.

Under standardized conditions, MBTFA reacts faster with amines than with alcohols, phenols or thiols. This reagent is commonly used to derivatize carbohydrates, creating volatile derivatives that are easy to analyze. Like other fluorinated acetylation reagents, MBTFA derivatives are detected by electron capture detectors (ECD) with great sensitivity.

  • DCC (Dicyclohexylcarbodiimide)

N,N''-Dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC) is a zero length crosslinker. Dicyclohexylcarbodiimide is a coupling reagent used to couple carboxylic acids (COOH) to primary amines (-NH2).
  • EGS Crosslinker

Ethylene glycol bis(succininic acid) N-hydroxysuccinimide ester) is a cleavable, homobifuntional crosslinker that contains two NHS functional groups. The NHS functional groups of EGS are selectively reactive towards primary amines at pH 7 to 9. EGS is cleavable with hydroxylamine at pH 8.5. EGS is often used as a cleavable option when disulfide containing crosslinkers, such as DSP (CovaChem 13304) and DTSSP (CovaChem 13303) are not an option due to the desire to retain disulfide networks of a protein intact.
  • Hydroxylamine Hydrochloride

Hydroxylamine Hydrochloride (Hydroxylamine HCl) is a widely used reducing agent used in biomolecular applications. Hydroxylamine HCl is used for reducing EGS crosslinkers and deprotecting SATA protected proteins.
  • LC-SPDP Crosslinker

Succinimidyl 6-[3-(2-pyridyldithio)propionamido] hexanoate (LC-SPDP) is a heterobifunctional crosslinker that is amino reactive on one end and sulfhydryl reactive on the other end. LC-SPDP contains a long spacer arm (15.7 Å)for increased molecular flexibility and a reducible disulfide, which is allows for cleavage of the crosslinker after crosslink formation.
  • Sulfo SANPAH Crosslinker

Sulfo-SANPAH is a heterobifunctional crosslinker with a Sulfo-NHS and nitrophenyl azide group each end.
  • Sulfo-NHS

N-Hydroxysulfosuccinimide sodium salt (Sulfo-NHS) is used in conjunction with EDC-HCl (CovaChem 13503). Sulfo-NHS is used as a catalyst in the zero-length crosslinking of proteins with EDC. Sulfo-NHS functions by stabilizing the protein-EDC intermediate, thus allowing for a more efficient crosslinking reaction.
